Playing Catch Up

So much has happened since my last post.  Most importantly, we bought a house.  We learned our offer was accepted the day my father went into the hospital.  I did all the  necessary paperwork to make sure the deal went through, but I never allowed myself to get too excited.  My father was supposed to be here.  Was suppose to work beside me and Jack turning it into a home.

While I am not religious in any sense, I do believe energy doesn't stop.  It just finds somewhere else to go.  There has not been a single day since we've moved in that I haven't seen a butterfly, or a dragonfly, or a cardinal.  I am choosing to believe that means something.

I've been creating.  I must have been.  I don't recall any long periods of time without knitting.  But I have almost nothing to show for it.  My date stamp says I photographed this shawl on July 3rd.

I don't think that's correct, but I also can't really say when it may have been done.  I don't remember binding off.  I don't remember blocking.  I don't remember taking the pictures.  I guess we'll just assume the camera has a better memory than I do and trust that.

The pattern is Pretty Basic.  Didn't make any real modifications, just made a few more repeats to make it a bit longer and wider for me.

I purchased the main color of this yarn at last year's Yarn Crawl.  I know it's Zen Yarn Garden.  Colorway is something wine-related.  Merlot maybe?

I knew I'd want to make it much larger than the pattern called for, so I ordered the purple for the edging.  Also have no idea what that color is.

It came out just how I wanted it.  Which is not something I can say about many other things lately.

Here's to a better fall than summer was.

Cheers!

EDIT 9/6/16: The yarn is indeed Zen Yarn Garden, Serenity Silk Single, in colors Rustic Wine and Black Plum.  I knew it was something wine related!
