Owls for Rhinebeck

It's the most wonderful time of the year.

RHINEBECK.  Or more accurately, The Sheep and Wool Festival.  Funny how it's never called that, though.  Just Rhinebeck.  The town which, I'm sure, is known for other things.  But not for us.  It's simply Rhinebeck, the wool and fibre is implied.

It's our Mecca.

As is tradition for most fibre artists, we feel a deep sense of urgency to create something new to wear for this occasion.  We are compelled beyond reason to whip up something spectacular and awe-inspiring to proudly show off in the only place on earth where someone will stop us, smiling, and say "Where did you get that pattern?? I must know, I need one for myself!"

Enter the Rhinebeck Sweater 2016.  Appropriately, made with Wild Apple Hill Farm yarn that I purchased at Rhinebeck years ago.  In Teddy Bear Brown.  How cute!

The sweater needed to be simple enough throughout, no seams or finicky bits, but still impressive.  So I enlisted a coworker to browse patterns with me and she picked this.  Owls.  Aptly named.  Before buttons they can be tricky to pick out.

After buttons, they pop.

I adore this sweater.  Thanks for deciding for me.  And it's done in plenty of time.

I'll let you know how many people comment on it.  Probably into the hundreds, at least.
