Playing Catch Up
It's somehow been two months since I last posted. I have no idea how that happened.
I never got around to ripping the neck out of Jack's Rhinebeck sweater, I think I'm going to write that one off as a slightly felted loss and move on. The holidays are no time to be picky.
I did manage to finally finish the sleeve on last year's Christmas Sweater so at least I have that base covered.
I have no idea what the pattern or yarn is for this. I am certain I got the yarn at Rhinebeck, but that's all I remember. It may be Bartlett as it has no band.
It enjoyed it's sunbath much more than the last sweater.
Next up we have a shawl. This is Campside. As always, I did a few more repeats as I like shawls to be a bit bigger and cozier.
Yarn is Araucania Yarns in Huasco DK, color 109 - Tonals.
And now onto the Christmas knitting! Admittedly, it's not much this year. And that's okay with me. A couple of days ago Jack mentioned that his mittens were too small, so he went into the stash and came out with leftover yarn from one of his past sweaters.
Simple recipe that I've known for years, exists only in my head.
And lastly we have this year's Christmas Stocking.
I love how these work up, it makes all the labor and counting, and extra tight knitting worth it. Fair Isle in worsted using 3.75mm needles does a number on the hand muscles. When I have the complete set, I will take them to an embroiderer and have our names put on the cuff.
Jack made this shelf with his Dad at a workshop this past fall. I don't know what we'll hang there for the rest of the year, but this is where the stockings will always hang. And yes, Jack's is slightly bigger, of course.
These patterns are from the de Noel collection by Karen Fletcher. Some of the charts do have errors, but nothing that can't be easily found and corrected.
I'm off to finish up Michael's birthday socks, then move on to the other 5 WIPs in my yarn room. Godspeed, fellow knitters. And Happy Holidays to all.
